Located on the grounds of the the Skokie Park District's Tot Learning Center (TLC) since 2011, The Talking Farm is an urban farm providing more than a place to grow food. It is a source of jobs, internships, and volunteer projects. It’s a living classroom for the community and for the children at TLC, a community kitchen, and a source of beauty. The Farm is a place where neighbors and friends can meet to work and learn together, celebrate the seasons, share a meal, enjoy the earth, and keep our community a vibrant place to live. 

The Talking Farm makes truly fresh food possible again, making it easier for area residents to celebrate and enjoy the earth’s bounty by raising good, nutritious fruits and vegetables close to home using sustainable methods without the use of pesticides and herbicides as it grew. As you can see in this video, local restaurants often develop their daily menu according to what The Farm brings in that day.
