Even after a 1993 renovation, the Skokie Park District long ago outgrew its 1956 Park Services Center on Skokie Boulevard. Now, after having searched for a suitable replacement for many years, the district has finally found a property that will serve the district well into its future.

If you are a Skokie resident and you find yourself in a small mountain village outside of Vanadzor, Armenia, and you happen to wander past a park playground that looks familiar, you probably have actually seen it before.

After receiving community input from neighbors of Winnebago Park in June 2016 and again in December 2016, the Skokie Park District will celebrate the park's playground renovation with a grand opening, tonight at 6:30 p.m.

The Devonshire Dance Competition Team took six awards recently at Milwaukee’s three day National Rainbow Dance Competition, the new team’s first-ever major competition, pitting them against dance companies with much larger and more experienced teams.

Chicago's North Shore Convention and Visitor's Bureau recently mentioned the Skokie Parks District's Exploritorium as one of "7 Ways to Keep Kids Entertained This Winter" on its website.

The hint comes that something might be different at the Oakton Community Center when you see the unique “Exploritorium” sign on the outside of the building and again at the top of the lobby stairs. After paying the modest admission and proceeding down those stairs, you enter a large modern open space. And while not exactly Disney World, a young child will most certainly be enthralled after laying eyes on the venue’s five distinct play areas.

Located on the grounds of the the Skokie Park District's Tot Learning Center (TLC) since 2011, The Talking Farm is an urban farm providing more than a place to grow food. It is a source of jobs, internships, and volunteer projects. It’s a living classroom for the community and for the children at TLC, a community kitchen, and a source of beauty.
