Jazz win gold in Italy
The Chicago Figure Skating Club’s Chicago Jazz won the gold medal at last weekend’s 'Spring Cup' International Synchronized Ice Skating Competition in Milan, Italy.
Thirty-two teams from fourteen nations and more than six hundred athletes competed, including first-time participants Spain and China.
The Chicago Jazz synchronized skating teams are members of the Chicago Figure Skating Club, which belongs to United States Figure Skating (U.S. Figure Skating). Synchronized skating includes teams of 8-20 skaters performing a program to music while executing intricate synchronized maneuvers and formations. The team is coached by Lisa Darkin. There are 18 skaters on the team ranging from 14-18. The club is a proud affiliate of the Skokie Park District and the Skatium Ice Arena.

Jazz take international trophy in Switzerland
The Chicago Jazz, a synchronized skating team representing Team USA, won the Neuchatel Trophy (first place) in Switzerland today. Twenty-four skaters from the Chicagoland area competed in the International Skating Union sanctioned competition over three days.
The Jazz are a part of the Chicago Figure Skating Club, an affiliate of the Skokie Park District and the Skatium Ice Arena.
