Skokie's Backlot Bash 2016 is only two weeks away and is expected to be one of the community's biggest and best family festivals ever!

During the Bash's three days of original live music, downtown Skokie (in front of the Village Hall) will also host a carnival midway, a large beer tent with a small music stage, the Backlot Dash 5K Run, a children's stage, classic films and kid's activities at the Skokie Public Library, a dunk tank, a classic auto show, a bingo tent, a sponsor and community resource fair, exhibits at the Skokie Heritage Museum, and on Sunday, a farmer's market and the Rotary Pancake Breakfast featuring a bloody mary and mimosa bar. The Bash will begin on Friday, August 26 at 6 p.m. and conclude on Sunday at 8 p.m.

On Friday, straight out of the '70s New York rock scene, Blue Öyster Cult will take the stage giving Skokie all the cowbell TBD they could possibly want. On Saturday night, the Big Apple's Living Colour will lay down their hard rock grooves, followed by Chicago’s ‘Tributosaurus becomes The Police' on Sunday. Eighteen bands total will play on two stages over three days, featuring rock, blues, jazz, funk, bluegrass, soul and more.

After four gold albums and three ‘monster’ radio hits, hard rock legends Blue Öyster Cult will kickoff the Bash on Friday, Aug. 26. The band is better than ever in 2016 and will no doubt play their crowd pleasers, “Don’t Fear the Reaper,” “Burnin’ for You” and “Godzilla.”

Two-time Grammy winners Living Colour will headline on Saturday, Aug. 27, giving Skokie a taste of their unique blend of ‘80s hard rock, punk and funk, including their hits “Love Rears It’s Ugly Head,” “Glamour Boys" and the multiple award-winning “Cult of Personality.”

On Sunday, Aug. 28, Tributosaurus, a collection of some of Chicago’s best studio musicians, will play their ninth straight Backlot Bash, this year becoming The Police.
