Fitness Classes

group exercise class

The Skokie Park District offers a variety of fitness classes for all ages and abilities. Classes vary by season but include strength training, yoga, pilates, mind-body, and dance-fitness. Separate drop-in group exercise and spinning classes are included in all Fitness First memberships; a full schedule can be found here.

Specialized senior fitness classes are located at the Oakton Community Center and can be found through our Active Adults program.

Please note that while classes may display below as available, registration does not open until the following dates:
•  Winter: December 15 for residents, December 22 for non-residents
•  Spring: March 15 for residents, March 22 for non-residents
•  Summer: May 15 for residents, May 22 for non-residents
•  Fall: August 15 for residents, August 22 for non-residents

Water Fun Run 1K

The perfect way to get the kiddos to exercise in the summer heat! All participants and participant’s families in attendance will receive FREE admission to the Skokie Water Playground good for one month from race day. Participants will also receive a t-shirt and a medal.

Yoga for Stability and Mobility

Improve your stability and mobility as you stretch muscles, loosen stiff joints, strengthen your core, correct poor posture, and increase circulation. Leave class feeling agile, refreshed, and balanced. This class incorporates adaptive poses and is perfect for all skill levels, ages, and abilities.
