'Urinetown: The Musical' comes to Skokie

(11.1.14) Skokie’s Devonshire Playhouse will tackle the 2001 Broadway hit "Urinetown: The Musical," November 8-23. The show satirizes capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, corporate mismanagement, and municipal politics. The show also parodies musicals such as The Threepenny Opera, The Cradle Will Rock and Les Misérables. It was nominated for ten Tony Awards and won three. Urinetown was produced on Broadway in September 2001 by the Araca Group and Dodger Theatricals in association with TheatreDreams, Inc., and Lauren Mitchell, and is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
