This course helps students feel confident, prepared, and safe when staying home alone. Participants learn how to make responsible decisions, handle common household situations, and respond to emergencies. The class also covers basic safety skills, recognizing unsafe situations, and knowing when and how to seek help.

Safe Sitter prepares students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they're home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises.

Under the creative direction of Chicago Loves Dance, students will learn the fundamentals and basics of hip hop dance. The last class we will invite parents to watch a dance performance!

Back-to-school season is bursting with creativity at Young Rembrandts! In this exciting session, students will explore characters, patterns, texture, and vibrant color while building strong drawing fundamentals. Every class is designed to grow confidence, spark imagination, and develop artistic skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Develop your child’s intellect through the royal game of chess! Current research has shown a strong link between chess and academic performance in a variety of areas, including mathematics and language arts. Chess has been proven to enhance a child’s motivation, concentration, focus, social skills, and creativity. Each class will consist of a fun, interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both beginner and experienced players are welcome and will learn under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach.

This exciting program from Afterschool Enrichment Solutions brings together elements of science, art and math in a hands-on, action-packed environment! Students will conduct experiments, play educational games, and unlock their creativity through building challenges and projects. No experience necessary!

Students will learn the fundamentals of cheerleading learning four to five cheers each week, including formations, and poms/dance choreography. Parents are invited for a short performance on the final day of class.

Celebrate the month of July with a Young Rembrandts cartoon drawing class. Summertime in America is the theme of this month’s drawings. We’ll create wonderful illustrations that feature our Founding Fathers. We’ll also draw popular seasonal activities and events like summer camp and a parade.

Celebrate the diversity of our planet’s animal life with a Young Rembrandts drawing class. We’ll create challenging, yet fun drawings. A colorful illustration of an aquarium will introduce your child to proper coloring and shading techniques. We’ll also create a vibrant marker illustration as we draw adorable dogs.
