The National Academy for Early Childhood Accreditation (NAEYC) has once again awarded the Skokie Park District's Tot Learning Center (TLC) its prestigious five-year accreditation, now renewed through August 2024.
TLC has successfully completed the renewal process by maintaining compliance with NAEYC early childhood program standards and accreditation criteria. In addition, TLC:
- submitted an annual report on the first, second, third, and fourth accreditation anniversaries,
- self-reported major programmatic changes within 30 days and notified NAEYC of licensing status changes and critical incidents within 72 hours,
- submitted to random unannounced visits and/or additional verification, and
- completed the NAEYC renewal process according to its timeline for currently accredited programs.
Tot Learning Center is one of only 363 out of nearly 3,000 Illinois programs accredited by NAEYC and one of only 6,765 accredited internationally. The center offers a full-day childcare program for infants through five-year-old children. It is licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
Since 1985, NAEYC's international accreditation system has set professional standards for early childhood education programs, allowing families to find high-quality programs for their children.
