Jesus Jones, Elements, Tributosaurus to headline
Skokie's Backlot Bash will be back this summer, and we have the lowdown on every band!
Grammy nominees Jesus Jones will headline the downtown street festival on Saturday, the weekend of August 22-24. Friday night will feature Elements: The Definitive Earth, Wind & Fire Tribute. On Sunday, Tributosaurus will become Van Halen.
Jesus Jones are a British indie rock band that incorporate elements of house, hip hop and techno into their music. Formed in late 1988, their track "Right Here, Right Now" was an international sensation in 1990, and was nominated for a Grammy award in 1991. The band also had hits with "Real Real Real," "International Bright Young Thing" and "Info Freako."
Elements: The Definitive Earth, Wind & Fire Tribute, are a 10-piece funk band that will weave their way through the dozens of masterful hits of '70s six-time Grammy winners Earth Wind And Fire, including their signature vocals, horns and dance steps.
Local studio musicians Tributosaurus will become Van Halen, the iconic '80s hard rock band that gave us the amazing solos, riffs and runs of guitarist Eddie Van Halen.
