During the COVID-19 stay-at-home order, the Skokie Park District has allowed the district’s tennis courts to remain open, as social distancing guidelines are easily followed while playing this particular sport. Keeping the courts open provides families and people who are sheltering together a recreational outlet that easily separates participants by more than six feet. However, while playing doubles, social distancing can be more difficult and is discouraged unless wearing a face mask. In addition, no other activities are allowed on district tennis courts. As always, dogs are never allowed on tennis courts.
Please, while using any of the district’s parks, tennis courts or the Weber Park Golf Course, remember to maintain a 6-foot distance from others and wash your hands or use hand sanitizer often during play. The Skokie Park District wants all residents to remain safe and healthy during this pandemic.
