Dr. Amelia Louise Klehm Park was dedicated Wednesday, with her cousin Eileen Harms Faut in attendance, cutting the ribbon and showing other attendees a family scrapbook containing photos of Dr. Klehm.
Dr. Klehm was Skokie's first female doctor, serving for three decades in the early 1900s. She delivered Ms. Faut's father at Swedish Covenant Hospital in 1920.
The dedication was held on the 100th Anniversary of women gaining the right to vote. Klehm Park is located at the southeast corner of Oakton Street and Lorel Avenue in Skokie.
