Both the Skokie Park District and Hot Shots Sports offer sports classes for children ages 2–12, most held at the Weber Leisure Center. 

These classes help children develop basic sports movement & knowledge, motor skills, hand-eye and hand-foot coordination, and at older ages more advanced instruction.

The Skokie Park District also offers Early Childhood sports programs at the Weber Leisure Center.

Hot Shots Sports aims to develop young athletes who will grow emotionally, physically, and intellectually in our sports programs. By redirecting the focus away from wins and losses and toward personal growth, we create an hot_shotsenvironment where winning is the byproduct of and not the means to success. 

This approach creates critical thinkers who understand the importance of giving their best in practice, games, and other life endeavors. Our coaches take pride in fostering that drive, and motivating your child to find the champion inside of themselves.

Junior Flag Football

Featuring daily game scrimmages with active instruction and tips from the coaching staff, kids will learn skills used such as running pass routes, play calling, defensive positioning, the fundamentals of blocking, and pass coverage.

This class features games from two of our most popular classes: Dodgeball and Nerf Elite Battle! All Nerf guns, blasters, and eye protection will be provided. Dodgeball uses super soft balls and safety is stressed during game play.

Junior Flag Football

Join the fun playing the nation’s most beloved game! Players are introduced to stance, receiving, rushing, blocking and defense. Each week ends with a scrimmage encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship. All players get a chance to play either receiver or running back each week. Games focus on fundamentals and field concepts, as well as positions and mechanics. No equipment necessary!
