At the park district's April 2012 board meeting, Director of the Skokie Health Department, Catherine Counard, MD, honored the Skokie Park District as an "excellent partner," for its critical support of Skokie's public health activities.

The Park District has provided staff and facilities for the distribution of flu vaccinations over the past several years, helping the Village to distribute vaccines to more than 3,000 residents, or 5% of Skokie. During the H1N1 campaign, more than 13,000 people were vaccinated.
