Instructor
Kale Brand is a musician with three years of college experience in various types of performance. Their primary instruments include guitar, bass guitar, piano, and ukulele, as well as a specialization in music composition and music theory. Kale has experience in both performance and accompaniment in various community musical settings, ranging from rock bands to musical theater.
Marion Messino has extensive experience teaching music in public schools, private studio settings, in orchestra, guitar, ukulele, and music appreciation. She teaches students of multiple age groups, and welcomes students of all skill levels. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, and has nearly completed her doctoral degree in music education from Boston University.
Marion knows how to play and teach a multitude of instruments, and offers private violin, viola, cello, string bass, guitar, bass guitar, and ukulele lessons at the Devonshire Cultural Center. With a strong background in string and orchestral pedagogy, she can offer sound teaching and coaching for a variety of performance settings, and skill levels. When not teaching, she enjoys yoga, playing string bass with the Elmhurst Symphony, and long walks with her terrier.
