The Skokie Park District's Oakton Park came alive Sunday with music, food, vendors and four hours of attendees covering each other in colors.

The new event offers a more informal celebration of Skokie's diversity than the May Skokie Festival of Cultures and is based on the traditions of Holi, a now worldwide festival celebrating happiness and love.
