Volo Bog State Natural Area in northwestern Lake County features a by-product of the last glacier, a rare wetland bog community where unusual plants grow, like tamarack trees, floating mats of sphagnum moss, and carnivorous pitcher plants. Leisurely three to four-mile hike, led by Emily Oaks Nature Center staff. Transportation provided.
