The art of dance is a wonderful gift; it helps develop rhythm, coordination, balance, and posture while promoting confidence, character, self-esteem, and physical fitness. Thus, our mission is to provide an environment in which students can explore various forms of movement in a fun and creative way while fostering technique and skills.

Devonshire Dance Competition Team is for dancers that want to take their dance training a step further. Dancers interested in the team must be enrolled in a ballet class and a technique class in the genre in which they are competing at Devonshire. Dancers will participate in four regional competitions and must be wiling to practice above and beyond. This will be a year-round commitment ending with a performance in the annual recital and at Skokie's Backlot Bash. Auditions take place annually in late summer.
The Devonshire Dance Ensemble is our resident dance company allowing Devonshire students to perform in a Fall and Spring Showcase as well as open and close our annual recital. Directed by Tony Springs, DDE is a performance group and not a class, so dancers will need to be enrolled in at least one dance class at Devonshire in order to participate. Ensemble members will perform a wide range of dance styles taught by our instructors, and learn performance and ensemble etiquette.
