Emily Oaks Nature Center staff will conduct a prescribed burn on a portion of the savanna/woodland today, March 3 from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Emily Oaks is permitted to make this burn by the county and state EPA. The Skokie Fire Deptartment has been notified of this burn. Prescribed burns are a part of the management plan for the Nature Center grounds and are a natural process essential for the continued health of the site.

The trails and grounds will be closed to the public during the burn. Growing Sprouts classes will be held in and around the building. If there are any questions, please call extension (847) 674-1500, ext 2500.
