The Skokie Park District offers basketball skills training classes as well as Early Childhood sports programs at the Weber Leisure Center and Kid Sports. For more information email Anna Kasper.

Hot Shots Sports aims to develop young athletes who will grow emotionally, physically, and intellectually in our sports programs. By redirecting the focus away from wins and losses and toward personal growth, we create an hot_shotsenvironment where winning is the byproduct of and not the means to success.

Basketball Skills Clinic 101

Develop early basketball skills such as shooting, dribbling and passing, along with the basic rules of the game. All instruction is game/drill oriented with mini games and scrimmages played every week. This class is for the basketball beginner looking to understand the game, learn new skills, and have fun!

Basketball Skills Clinic 201

Players begin to develop more advanced skills such as various guard/post techniques, setting screens, moving without the ball, and offensive spacing. Defensive instruction includes man-to-man, denying the ball, help-line and boxing out. Players spend time developing their shot using proper mechanics to be effective further from the basket. Scrimmages are played every week.

Hot Shot Sports Basketball League

Join us for an exciting summer of basketball with the Hot Shots Sports Summer Basketball League! Designed for players of all skill levels, this league focuses on skill development, teamwork, and competitive play in a fun and structured environment. Each team has one practice and one game per week. Register according to your child's grade for the 2024-2025 school year. League Details: - Evaluations: Monday, June 9 – Attendance is required at evaluations to ensure balanced teams. One reciprocated friend request is allowed per player. Once teams are formed, rosters are final. - Skills Clinic: Wednesday, June 11 – Led by Hot Shots Sports coaches to enhance player development prior to the season starting. - Team Practices: Monday, June 16 - August 4, all teams will have one 45 minute practice per week between 4:15-7:15PM - Games: Wednesday, June 18 - August 6, games are 1-hour in length between 4:15-8:15PM.
