Active Adult programs for adults ages 60 are organized out of the Oakton Community Center's Lounge. The overall program features drop-in programs, exercise classes, Monday movies, card clubs, seasonal parties, health and wellness fairs, shopping trips, lunch and dinner outings, day trips, vacation getaways and more.

The lounge at Oakton Community Center is available to members only. Membership offers unlimited use of the Lounge, during Lounge hours, by reservation, a $10 annual program voucher to use toward active adult exercise, parties or trips at the Oakton Center, and free movie and popcorn Mondays. Canasta Lessons

Learn the basics of this classic fun and easy-to-play card game while learning to play triple play, a variation of the canasta game that uses seven decks of cards. Rediscover the joy of the games you love! Our low-impact programs provide a safe, fun-filled environment that encourages participation while minimizing the risk of injury. All activities are designed with safety and inclusivity in mind, ensuring everyone can join in regardless of their fitness level. Our ‘walking concept’ means no running is allowed, and coaches strictly enforce this rule to keep play safe and enjoyable. The Mitchell Museum of the American Indian focuses exclusively on the history, culture and arts of North American native peoples. The Charles Gates Dawes House is a national historic landmark, built in 1894. This chateau-like residence has been faithfully restored and carefully conserved. Feed My Starving Children

Volunteer for a one-of-a-kind experience, which will impact hundreds of children in just two hours of your time. You will hand pack rice, soy, dried vegetables, and a blend of vitamins and minerals into bags that are sealed, boxed, and shipped all over the world, to reach the neediest children. Door County Adventure

Adventure awaits you in Door County! Travel with Angela and Janeen to Fish Creek, Wisconsin for our first overnight trip. If you enjoy our day trips, then this trip is a must! This three-day, two-night trip will include coach bus transportation, your hotel room located in Fish Creek (double occupancy only), a scenic boat tour, and a total of five meals including a traditional Door County Fish Boil and dinner at a supper club. In addition to Fish Creek, we will explore nearby towns and villages. There will be time for shopping and exploring on your own. A complete itinerary will be available prior to registration. Please note that we have a mix of first floor and second floor rooms and there is no elevator. Cancellations must be made before March 21, in order to receive a full refund.
